Shalla’s simple act of kindness made a massive change that neither she nor Raimundo thought was possible.

Life is surprisingly unpredictable, and we never know what awaits us around the next corner. Raimundo Arrudo Sobrinho is the man who knows it best. During Brazil’s military dictatorship in the 1970s, he became homeless and spent the next 35 years of his life on the streets.

Because he was not clean, many people would not approach him. Thus, he spent much of his days alone. The papers and his pen were his only friends.

This homeless man was a poet who would scribble down his thoughts, but no one ever got to read any of them.

Fortunately, things were about to change when an exceptional woman named Shalla crossed his path.

She observed Raimundo was usually writing something, and her curiosity kept her awake until she approached him one day and spoke about his writings.

After reading his work, she was amazed by his incredible talent, so she decided to do something for him, and her deed changed this man’s life forever.

Shalla felt it would be a shame if Raimundo’s poems were not shared with the world, so she posted them on Facebook alongside his life story.

Many people commented on the page, saying that his work was truly outstanding. They shared it with their friends, and soon, more than 100,000 people were following the Raimundo page and couldn’t wait for new poems to be posted on it.

It only took one woman to notice a homeless man’s talent for his life to be turned upside down.

The most unbelievable part was that one of the people who discovered Shalla’s Facebook profile was Raimundo’s long-lost brother.

Under the dirty clothes and shaggy beard, he recognized Raimundo and approached him. A really emotional interaction was about to take place, and it touched many people’s emotions.

Raimundo was reunited with his family and allowed to live with them. He finally had a place he could call home.

The years spent on the streets were now a distant memory.

The remarkable narrative of Raimundo’s life was told in the documentary “The Conditioned.”

It reminds us that no matter how wealthy or attractive we appear to be, we are all human beings who want a little love and support to find our place in this universe.

This story proves that life is full of surprises, and we should not judge a book by its cover. Share this amazing story to inspire someone to take the initiative to make a difference in someone else’s life!
