Clayton Osteen and Victoria Pacheco were sheriff’s deputies in St. Lucie County. They killed themselves and left behind a 1-month-old son. The two people killed themselves just a few days apart, according to police reports.
Everyone was extremely shocked. People said that the two of them got along well. Family and friends say both parents were thrilled when their babies came into the world. We don’t know what happened in either tragedy up to this point.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara said, “As sheriff, I saw these two deputies as young, driven, and a great addition to a group of already great professionals. People, and sometimes even I, think of police officers as superhuman, but let’s not forget that they’re just people like us.
Kelly Riddle knows the family, so she started a campaign to raise money to help the little boy while his parents were away. Someone else said that the baby is now being cared for by a family member.

It was said in writing about the campaign:
“Clayton and Victoria were so excited to have their first child. They were so happy that Jayce was coming into the world and their family was growing. Clayton killed himself on December 31, 2021. No one knows why he did it; it was entirely out of character. Victoria killed herself while still in shock two days after the loss.
The name of the boy was Jayce. Kelly said, “Every donation will be used to give Jayce a better life and a bright future.” So far, about $95,000 has been collected.
Mascara said, “It’s impossible for us to fully understand the private circumstances that led to this terrible loss, but we pray that this tragedy will be a catalyst for change, a catalyst that will help remove the stigma around mental health and make it normal to talk about the problems that so many of us face every day.”
There are a lot of things in life that are hard to understand. When bad things happen, people can lose faith. But God is ready to help people feel better when they want to.
Jesus tells anyone tired and burdened to come to him, and he will give them rest. This peace comes from knowing that God will save them and provide them with life after death. With this in mind, you don’t have to worry about what will happen in this life because you know that no matter what, you have a hope that comes from God, who is all-powerful and good.
God also wanted Jayce to be taken in by a family. We don’t know what will happen to the little boy in the future, but we hope for the best. But one thing is sure: anyone who gives their lives to God’s will and plans will live a whole life. Not only will they be sure, but they will also have a new way of looking at things that will bring glory to God.
Continue to pray for the child and the two deputies’ families, who are still hurting from their deaths.
