Possibly all of you have heard the story of how George Clooney gave his 14 closest pals each a bag stuffed with a million dollars.

In 2017, Rande Gerber, a close friend of Clooney’s and a business partner at Casamigos, first told the anecdote on the MSNBC program “Headliners.”

The actor himself verified it in 2020 and expounded on the unusual gesture in an interview with GQ.

Clooney reflected on his mentality in 2013 and remarked, “Amal and I had just met, but we weren’t dating at all.” “At that time, I was a bachelor. We were all showing signs of growing old. Like, I was 52 or something. Plus, most of my close pals are far older than me.

The Hollywood leading man recognized he was lucky to have such devoted buddies despite his lack of a significant other. He said these guys had been there for him for 35 years.

Over the years, they’ve been there for me when I needed assistance. Over the years, I’ve been able to assist them. As he proceeded, it became clear that they were close friends.

And then I realized, ‘You know, I wouldn’t have any of this without them. Plus, we’re close, so I figured they’d all be included in my will if anything happened to me, like being hit by a bus. Therefore, “why the f**k am I sitting around hoping to be hit by a bus?”

The actor had just been paid several million dollars for his role in the smash film “Gravity,” in which he co-starred with Sandra Bullock. Instead of putting the funds aside, he opted to distribute them to his closest friends as cash gifts.

As though lifted directly from “Ocean’s Eleven,” Clooney conceived a plot.

The term “Florist” was spray-painted on the side of a vehicle he purchased. Then, he drove to a downtown Los Angeles warehouse stocked with “huge pallets” of cash and removed $14 million in hand.

Clooney, accompanied by two security guards, loaded 14 Tumi luggage with bundles of cash. When everything was over, the actor invited his closest friends, whom he nicknamed “The Boys,” for supper the following evening.

Clooney said to the magazine, “And I just put up a map and pointed to all the locations I got to travel in the globe and all the things I’ve gotten to see because of them.”

Here is how Gerber recalled the incredible opportunity that only comes along once in a lifetime.

George starts talking about how much he appreciates their friendship and their importance in his life.

While in LA, I slept on your couch. I am very grateful to have each of you in my life; I would not be where I am today without you. As a result, it was crucial for me to contribute while we were still together. So I’m going to ask everyone to please unpack their bags.

Gerber said that when people saw how much money they had received, they were “in amazement.” Clooney claimed he had previously sent the appropriate tax payments.

“One guy was working at a bar in Texas by the airport, trying merely to support his family,” Gerber added. Puts in their daily commute on two wheels. This is George paying back the favour to the folks who helped him.

Gerber made an effort to repay Clooney’s kind present. He cornered him and flatly refused a million bucks.

Instantly, the famous person struck a deal: “I’m only going to make one announcement. Rande has been offered a million dollars, but no one will be paid if he declines.

Gerber, a prosperous businessman, donated his money to a good cause.

Clooney experienced the positive effects of karma in the form of romantic fulfilment a year later. In 2014, on September 27th, he wed human rights attorney Amal Clooney. The couple just welcomed twins.
