In a touching post, actor danny trejo congratulates his son on eight years of being sober

For all of Danny Trejo’s tough-guy persona, he has a heart of gold when it comes to his family.

Earlier this week, the Machete actor turned to social media to congratulate his son Gilbert on reaching a significant life milestone. On July 17, Trejo’s son, 34, celebrated eight years clean.

“Any parents whose children are battling with addiction, I didn’t believe my son would survive, but now he’s my best friend!” “There is a way out,” he exclaims. Trejo took to Twitter to express his thoughts.

Because the actor has been clean for over half a century, he is well-versed in the sober lifestyle. When he first used marijuana, he was only eight years old. He drank for the first time at the age of 12, and by 14, he was using heroin.

Finally, at the age of 24, he decided to become clean after years of being in and out of prison. It took him little time to immerse himself totally in the recovery community before he was ultimately accepted into the field of drug rehabilitation.

For him, the period beginning on August 23, 1968, and ending on August 23, 2018, was like a dream. “I have nothing to be unhappy about. “There’s nothing wrong here,” I said.

Trejo is still an advocate for recovery to this day. He is very forthright about the effort required to obtain sober.

Danielle, the 78-year-daughter, has also been sober for many years.

Gilbert, congratulations! Eight years is a huge achievement. May your success continue.
