While collecting mail from a mailbox in Leicester, England, the big-hearted mailman, known as Simon, discovered the letter, which was written to their father in Heaven, Cloud 9, on June 21.

Simon was worried that without a valid address on the letter, it might be lost, so he set out to find the family and plan a wonderful surprise for the girl.

He went online with his manager’s permission to see if he could find the family.

“I’m a postman in the Braunstone area; earlier today I emptied the red pillar box,” he commented on Facebook. is a letter written by a youngster addressed to their father in Heaven, Cloud 9?”

“I’m seeking for the child’s parents so that I may contact them and, with their permission, set up something for the child.”

“I lost my father last year and found it difficult as an adult, so I can only image what this youngster is going through.” If anyone has any information, it would be much appreciated.”

Simon discovered that the letter had been written by Sianna, an eight-year-old girl.

“I never anticipated this would happen,” Sarah Tully, a mother, said of the response to the post. She told the BBC, “I’m in shock.”

Tony, Sianna’s father, died when she was just four months old, and Sarah claimed she is “only now beginning to grasp.”

Simon said that contacting the family and arranging for the unopened letter to be returned took only 15 minutes.

“Obviously, without a stamp or a real address on it, it would just get thrown away in transit someplace if it was mixed together with the rest of the items to be delivered.”

“I asked my manager if I could attempt to contact the family and find out more about it so I could return it to them,” she explained.

Sarah expressed her gratitude to Simon for returning the letter, but stated that she would not examine it and would instead save it in a special box for Sianna when she is older.

According to Leicestershire Live, “Sianna merely walked into the room that evening and asked ‘where does Daddy live?’ so she could put the address on a letter she had written.”

“I have no idea what’s in there; I always tell her and her father that’s between them.”

“I told her it was too late to mail it at first, but she started crying, so I said, ‘come on,’ and we walked down the street to the post office.”

Sarah shared a photo of the present her daughter received from the generous mailman on Facebook, writing: “The gift Simon the postman brought my daughter… This has been a very emotional period for us… It’s been incredible, thank you so much to everyone x”
